Walking in on a water loss or even a fire loss our first initial scope will be done and at that time we will be noting if there is any subrogation involved. Here is a few things we will be looking for and documenting:
• Photos of entire loss and diagram of loss
• Find evidence of subrogation (listening to the homeowner is key)
• Secure and store evidence (unless otherwise asked by adjuster to leave onsite)
• Photos of where item was located/serial#/make and model
With the information we hand over to the adjuster and insurance company they will be able to comply facts and evidence to ensure if there is actually a chance for a subrogation claim against the manufacturer or 3rd party contractor.
