Today I am going to bring up the subject of subrogation. Many homeowners may not be educated on water or fire damage that may include subrogation. Definition of subrogation from investopedia.com: Subrogation is a term denoting a legal right that is reserved by most insurance carriers. Subrogation is the right for an insurer to pursue a third party that caused an insurance loss to the insured, this is done as means of recovering the amount of the claim paid to the insured for the loss.

An example of subrogation would be a washing machine hose failed or burst. Many washing machine hoses has a 10 year warranty. Another example would be a faulty toaster that caused a house fire. Usually the insurance adjuster and Sage Restoration will be able to make that call. There are many examples we can go through and a lot of legal terms, which I will explain in a later blog.
