We recently met a couple who experienced a house fire more than a decade ago and they shared their story with us. It just proves that a house fire is devastating and families should be treated with compassion! We wish we could have helped this couple out! If you know anyone who has experienced a house fire, know that you can trust us to take the stress out of cleaning up the mess!
"We never thought it would happen to us. Sure, we had homeowners insurance. Doesn’t everyone who owns a home? This was our first home, a beautiful ranch-style home with hardwood floors and a large backyard for our dog to run and play. We worked hard for this home. We put our blood, sweat and tears into making it OURS.
And just like that it was gone. A fire that started in the kitchen, from a malfunctioning wire in the microwave, engulfed our home in a matter of minutes. The fire department was called. Our dog and cat were trapped inside. Four fire trucks came to put out the fire as we rushed home, not prepared for the site.
Thankfully, the amazing firefighters were able to rescue a very stubborn black cat and the scared yellow lab. They were rushed to an emergency vet leaving us to watch as the fire was extinguished. The house was reported as a total loss, but we were able to go in and salvage what we could.
We were beside ourselves. We had no idea what to do next. What was safe to take out of the home? How was this mess going to get cleaned up? Where were we going to stay? How were are pets? Devastated.
I write this because the fire happened more than a decade ago in a different city than where we now live. But, the images, the fear, the anxiety and the horrific memories stay with us. We wish we had a company like Sage Restoration available to us in our time of need. They see families experience this grief, this loss, this state of confusion all of the time and they take action.
I know that if we ever experienced a fire (again), flood or mold in our home or if anyone we know experiences these things, that Sage Restoration would take the stress out of the mess. They treat the families and business owners they serve with the utmost care and respect. We definitely could have used their compassion and professionalism during our tragedy. I encourage everyone to call the company that cares! #ServiceWithCompassion"
